Privacy Policy for Heading Highlighter – SEO Heading Checker

Effective date: October 4, 2026

Heading Highlighter – SEO Heading Checker ("the extension") is a browser extension for Google Chrome that highlights HTML heading elements (H1–H6) on web pages and shows an outline of those headings in a popup.

Summary

The extension does not collect, store, sell, share, or transmit any personal data or browsing data. It does not communicate with any server.

Information we do not collect

We do not collect or transmit:

Information stored on your device

The extension saves a single setting, whether automatic highlighting is turned on or off, using the Chrome storage API (chrome.storage.sync). This setting contains no personal information. If Chrome Sync is enabled in your browser, Chrome may sync this setting across your signed-in devices as part of its standard behavior. We do not have access to it.

How page content is handled

When you open the popup, the extension reads the headings of the active tab locally in your browser to display the outline. This information is shown only in the popup, is never stored, and is never sent anywhere. When automatic highlighting is on, the extension adds a small stylesheet to the page to color the headings. It does not read or change anything else on the page.

Permissions

Third parties

The extension does not use third-party services, SDKs, analytics, or advertising, and it does not load any remote code.

Children's privacy

The extension does not collect any data from anyone, including children.
